Why Segment Routing? is it mature enough to take place over the running networks?
Group of IP experts discuss the pros/cons of SR and how can it improve the networks and services deployments.
That was a comprehensive showdown for such a relatively new paradigm. I liked how the podcast was conducted, and how the questions were being asked.
I wanted to point out a small concern regarding to the SR-MPLS, were the benefits mentioned in this showdown are for the distributed SR-MPLS, which are naturally bounded to the implementer of the technology [SP/DC].
Although, The E2E benefits that has been focused on here is the ability to flexibly apply Services Chaining applications in DC in general, I was hoping – and I’m waiting for it as you’ve already mentioned this would be the next topic 🙂 – that you would’ve addressed the controller-based features/use-cases for SR-MPLS, which mainly could take advantage of the E2E applications needs and preferences for forwarding in general, then applies it to the SR-MPLS ready infrastructure.
Again, it was very helpful brainstorming in general, I enjoyed this discussion with every bit of information mentioned here. This topic was always going above and beyond since it has been on the surface.
Thanks you all,
